My son and my music

I have already said here, that I am going to make sure my son becomes a singer. I decided to take his training myself and the below is the result.
He seems to show a keen interest in getting away from me when I sing, but I think that is because of the bad acoustics.

He also laughs at weird words. Here is the video:

Which ragam are you singing?

Sailesh,
This is a film song set in Kalyani. Apparently it has shades of the Hindustani raaga "Yaman", but I am not expert in such details.
That song is from the Tamil movie Thavapputhalvan. T.M. Soundarrajan(singer), Kannadasan (lyricist),M.S.Viswanathan (composer), Sivaji(over actor). The original video and a few renderings of it are available in youtube, if you search for "Isai Kettal".
This song is now doing the rounds in music talent shows - I first heard it in Vijay TV Airtel Super Singer 2008. Classy singing by a contestant named Ravi.
Also listen to this song, set in the same raaga:
Then Sinthuthe Vaanam

Nice voice Ram,I didn't know you sing too :) You could have tried playback singing youself! Taken any vocal training?

Your son will make you proud! May god bless!

Yeah, I guessed it was Kalyani based on shades on Sinthanai Seimaname, but wasn't too confident of it. The "Yaman" is beyond me too.

You really sing well!!!! :O Hope your enthusiasm doesn't make your son another "kutti srikanth" before he could actually sing.. :))
